Highly sought after original 1969 stereo pressing of Breaking In, the legendary second and final studio album by The Outlaw Blues Band. Released on ABC's revered Bluesway imprint, this LP is a masterclass in laste 60s multi cultural fusion, seamlessly blending gritty psych blues, soul jazz, and deep Latin rhythms. Produced by the legendary Bob Thiele ( famed for heading Impulse! Records and working with John Coltrane and B.B. King). This album is an essential for serious psych blues collectors and hip hop sample diggers alike. Cat: BLS 6030 While the entire album is a stellar example of West Coast psych blues, Side B closes with "Deep Gully", a key track among DJ culture and hip hop producers. Driven by Victor Aleman's fierce, complex Latin percussion and syncopated drumming pattern, tis iconic dusty breakbeat intro was famously sampled by Cypress Hill for their breakout hit "How Could I Just Kill A Man". Original pressings of this record are highly prized by beat differs specifically for this track. Cover: by photographer George Whiteman, the photo session famously took place along the canals of Venice Beach, California, perfectly capturing the gritty counte rculture aesthetic of the late 1960s Los Angeles music scene. The band's powerful instrumentation is driven by Philip John's searing guitar work, Joe Whiteman's expressive flute and saxophone, and Leon Rubenhold's piercing harmonica. Backed by the heavy rhythm section of Lawrence Dickens on bass and Victor Aleman on drums. Auction Note: All lots are from a single estate collection. This is an opportunity to purchase a carefully curated decades-spanning collection from a single collector.
