Rare, original Canadian mono first pressing released in 1962 on the CRC Charter label (MGM Canada) (Cat. CLM 102). A key piece of 1960s West Coat cool jazz and lounge history. Artist: Johnny Beecher (pseudonym for legendary session saxophonist Plas Johnson) Audio Engineer: Jim Malloy Producer: Dick Peirce "Johnny Beecher" is actually Plas Johnson. Johnson is universally celebrated as teh tenor saxophone soloist behind Henry Mancini's iconic The Pink Panther theme. Becuase of contractual constraints or studio arrangements at the time he recorded this brilliant West Coast session under the Beecher moniker. Cover: designed by acclaimed artist Bill Pate. Canadian sleeve features teh small Parr's logo, sought after by regional print variant collectors. World Class Lineup - backing group features a "Who's Who" of legendary session giants.
