This lot includes two 1992 Slovenian 100 Tolarjev banknotes, Pick #14, issued by the Bank of Slovenia during the country’s early years as an independent nation. The notes feature a striking portrait of Richard Jakopič (1869–1943), one of Slovenia’s important modern artists, along with colourful abstract artistic elements and intricate security printing. The reverse continues the artistic theme with imagery associated with Jakopič’s work, making these considerably more interesting than a typical piece of world currency.
