This lot includes three 1997 Slovenian 200 Tolarjev notes, Pick #15, each featuring the striking portrait of Jacobus Gallus (1550–1591), the renowned Renaissance composer and one of Slovenia’s important historical cultural figures. The design is wonderfully distinctive, combining his portrait with architectural and decorative elements in rich burgundy, blue and green tones. Turn the notes over and the musical theme becomes even more apparent.
