Lot #187: Vintage Markwell Heavy-Duty Long-Base Stapler – Industrial Office Collectible

A substantial vintage Markwell Manufacturing Co. heavy-duty desktop stapler, featuring an unusually long base, black painted metal construction, oversized rounded hand press, adjustable staple carriage and substantial metal mechanism. This is a particularly handsome example of vintage office/industrial equipment, with the utilitarian construction and aged finish that collectors of vintage office machines and tools appreciate. Markwell has a long history of producing stapling equipment in the United States, with the company dating to 1919.  The stapler has a wonderfully worn vintage appearance, including scattered finish loss, surface wear, scratches and areas of oxidation consistent with age and use. The large rounded top button shows additional age-related wear. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description. Condition: Vintage condition with considerable cosmetic wear, finish loss and surface oxidation throughout. Mechanism has not been professionally tested and is being sold as found. Please do not assume staples are included or that the stapler is currently operational.
