This is a genuine, large ostrich eggshell that has been hollowed and preserved, showcasing the remarkable size, shape and naturally textured surface of an ostrich egg. Measuring approximately 6” in height and 5” in diameter, this substantial shell has been left in its natural cream-coloured finish, with thousands of tiny natural pores and markings across the surface creating an almost stone-like, speckled appearance. The result is a wonderfully organic object that is equally at home in a natural-history collection, eclectic interior, rustic display, or as an interesting conversation piece. The shell has two openings from the hollowing process, with one larger opening and a smaller opening on the opposite side.
