Antique Mason's Ironstone Chinese Antiquities Plate, c. 1840

The Mason&#39;s Patented Ironstone factory mark on this 10 1/4&#34; dinner plate indicates that it was made between 1830 to 1848. The pattern is Chinese Antiquities also known sometimes as the Vase and Symbol pattern. It is pictured and described in the Guide To Patent Ironstone Patterns published by the Mason&#39;s Collectors Club. The plate is also marked on the reverse with the pattern number 1683. There are also tiny flowers on the underside of the rim. The plate is in excellent antique condition with no cracks, hairlines, or excessive signs of use. This is a vibrant example of early Mason&#39;s ironstone with a vase on a tiny stool and other Chinese good luck symbols in the center of the plate.
