An Antique Chinese ceramics from the Song Dynasty (960–1279 CE). Visual & Stylistic Breakdown The Shape & Body: The vessel has a distinctive "melon" or "pumpkin" shaped globular body (gualeng), split into subtle, vertically carved ribs. This melon motif was immensely popular during the Northern and Southern Song periods.The Neck & Lug Handles: It features a slim, cinched neck that flares gently out at the rim. Two small circular loop handles (or lug handles) are applied symmetrically at the shoulder. Historically, these loops were designed so a cord could be threaded through to tie down a lid or secure the vessel during travel.Glaze and Texture: The piece is finished in a monochromatic, translucent cream or light-olive hued glaze. It shows an extensive network of age crazing (crackle lines) running through the surface. The glaze pools a bit darker and thicker in the recessed grooves of the ribs.Typology & Potential KilnsIf this piece is an authentic artifact rather than a later revival, its specific form and glaze profile align closely with two main ancient Chinese traditions:Qingbai Ware (青白瓷): Early or regional variants from southern kilns (like those in Jiangxi or Guangdong) often produced variations that fired to an ivory-cream hue rather than the classic pale sky-blue tint. They regularly featured small lug handles and lobed melon bodies.Yue Ware / Proto-Celadon Variants: Some regional northern or coastal kilns produced utilitarian or burial ewers with muted yellowish-green or cream-crackled slip surfaces. 中國宋代(960–1279年)陶瓷。 藝術與造型特徵器型與瓜棱腹: 瓶身呈飽滿的圓球狀,並帶有均勻分布的垂直凹凸紋路,這種造型在古漢語中被稱為**「瓜棱」**。瓜棱式樣是宋代至元代非常盛行的仿生自然主義設計。繫耳與瓶頸: 細長的瓶頸在口沿處微撇。兩側肩部對稱附有一對小圓圈狀的**「系」或「穿帶耳」**。在古代,這兩個小孔是用來穿繩以固定器蓋、或方便懸掛系扣使用的。釉面與開片: 器表施有一層均勻的米青色或乳白色單色釉。由於年代久遠,釉面呈現出密密麻麻、自然交錯的開片紋(冰裂紋)。釉水在瓜棱的凹槽處稍微積聚,顏色顯得比凸起處稍深。窯口與工藝推測如果這是一件傳世或出土的真品,它的造型和釉色與以下兩類宋代窯口最為吻合:青白瓷(影青瓷)地方窯: 部分江西吉州、安徽或廣東等南方非核心窯口生產的青白瓷,因燒成氣氛或胎土原因,有時會呈現這種偏乳白、米黃的釉色,且常出產這種帶繫的小瓶。早期越窯系或青瓷變體: 這種帶有網狀開片和青米色調的釉面,也符合宋代偏黃的青瓷特徵。 Condition: cracks and dent in the original status H: 4 inches / 10 cm Dimensions: H: 4 inches / 10 cm Pickup category timeslot {B}
