- This item was manufactured in 1904. While the individual base components carry patent stamps from April 1, 1902, and February 17, 1903, this specific model configuration was officially patented and released by S. Sternau & Co. in 1904. - The set disassembles entirely into four core pieces: -Main Boiler/Urn: Solid copper body featuring a brass pouring spout faucet and dual ebonized wood handles. The interior retains its original central tube mechanism. -Intricate Support Stand: Styled with elegant art nouveau cabriole legs and a decorative cutout warming rim. -Original "Inferno" Alcohol Burner: Heavy brass spirit lamp complete with an adjustable flame adjustment turn-key and filling cap. Stamped with model number 863 and patent dates from 1902 & 1903. -Internal Filter Basket: Removable metal mesh grounds basket with a central steam cap. - Fully stamped on the bottom of the pot with the circular "S. Sternau & Co. New York" maker's mark and the "1 PINT" volume stamp. The burner base features deep, clear patent stamps. - Excellent antique condition with a stunning natural patina and light, age-appropriate surface wear.
