This large patinated bronze sculpture is Diana with Youth , inspired by the original from renowned French sculptor Étienne-Henri Dumaige (1830–1888).It depicts the Roman goddess Diana in classical drapery holding her quiver of arrows, standing with a young companion or youth who rests his arm familiarly on her shoulder.Dumaige was a prominent student of Jean-Jacques Feuchère who regularly exhibited his mythological and genre bronzes at the Paris Salon during the late 19th century.
