This piece captures a historic, atmospheric view looking up Moor Lane in the market town of Clitheroe, Lancashire, England. In the background, the iconic medieval keep of Clitheroe Castle dominates the hillside skyline. The street scene beautifully features traditional stone architecture, including the town's famous, historic Byrne’s Wine Shop on the right, alongside fine figurative details of a local resident walking up the lane. The artwork features excellent composition, delicate wash techniques, and precise structural draftsmanship characteristic of Tattersall's mid-century regional works.
