Vintage 1950s H. Bequet Quaregnon Belgium Cobalt Blue Ewer Pitchers – Pair, Model 271 An elegant pair of mid-century Belgian art pottery ewers (Model 271) by the renowned Hubert Béquet factory. Featuring rich cobalt blue glazes, hand-painted detailing, and ornate bamboo-style gilded scroll handles. Standing at 9.5" tall, these striking pieces make a beautiful decorative statement. Item Specifics: Brand/Maker: Hubert Béquet (H. Béquet) Origin: Quaregnon, Belgium Era: Circa 1950s–1960s Model/Shape Number: 271 (Impressed on base) Height: 9.5 inches (24 cm) Material: Fine Ceramic Art Pottery Finish: High-Gloss Cobalt Blue Glaze with Heavy Gold Gilt Full Description: Up for auction is a gorgeous, matching pair of vintage mid-century modern ewers crafted by the iconic Hubert Béquet factory in Belgium. Known for his luxurious color palettes and theatrical shapes, Béquet’s work from this era is highly collectible. This pair includes: The Floral Ewer: Features vibrant, hand-painted stylized tulips/florals with heavy gold accents over vertical cream and green detailing. The Classic Cobalt Ewer: Features a minimalist, elegant gold scroll design over a deep, solid cobalt blue ground. Both pieces feature Béquet's signature textured geometric basketweave base and highly stylized, gilded bamboo-scrolled handles. The bottoms bear the impressed model mold number "271" and the classic gold foil-style factory shield stamp reading "Made in Belgium - H. Béquet Quaregnon". Condition Report (Please Read Before Bidding): We believe in full transparency so you can bid with absolute confidence: Floral Ewer: Excellent vintage condition. The spouts, rims, and base are crisp with no chips or cracks. The seam line at the upper handle attachment is a natural factory firing artifact from production, structurally sound, and fully intact. Solid Cobalt Ewer: Beautiful cosmetic presentation from the front, but features an old home repair on the upper handle. The handle has a clean break across the top bamboo rib that has been glued back together, with some visible vintage glue residue near the fracture line and upper scroll joint. The handle holds securely for display purposes, but the piece should be handled with care. General Wear: Both pieces show minor, age-appropriate shelf wear on the unglazed bottom rims and very minimal rubbing to the gold gilt. Selling as a decorative pair, as-is.
