Antique Blue Willow Pattern Pearlware "Breakfast Cup" • This is a 19th-century English Pearlware cup, dating between 1810 & 1840. • The British Maddox Trade Marks Act of 1862 & the American McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 which forced potters to print country names like "England", so this was made before that period. • In the 1820's-1840's potteries painted simple, straight lines of gold lustre to mimic the Chinese Canton porcelain or French Empire styles. • During the 1810-1840 period, an oversized ceramic vessel of this shape and scale was used for serving Breakfast Tea, Milk Chocolate, or Hot Cocoa. • In good condition, no cracks or chips, but handle has been broken and "repaired".
