Lot #19: Vintage Neon Monsters King Kong Model Kit Sealed Glow in the Dark

1992 Monogram Luminators "Neon Monsters" Glow in the Dark King Kong model kit (Model No. 1623). The kit uses the iconic, original 1964 Aurora Plastics Corporation molds. After Aurora went under, Monogram acquired the molds and reissued several classic figures under the fluorescent "Luminators" line. It is molded in a striking Day-Glo neon pink plastic. While it features standard "glow in the light" properties, the plastic is highly translucent and reacts vibrantly under a blacklight. The model depicts King Kong holding a screaming woman (Ann Darrow) in his right hand while standing atop a detailed jungle base. It is a snap/glue assembly kit that explicitly mentions "no painting required" so that the neon plastic effect is not ruined. New old stock, sealed. Pickup category timeslot {A}
