Lot #49: Limited edition print “ Sunset on the George Strait” by Marla Wilson.

Beautiful limited edition print “Sunset on the George Strait” by Marla Wilson numbered 708/950. Sunset on Georgia Strait captures the quiet beauty and atmosphere of the British Columbia coast through Marla Wilson’s appreciation for the natural landscape. The setting sun transforms the Strait into a peaceful, glowing scene, with the water, distant shoreline and evening sky creating a wonderful sense of depth and tranquility. There is something particularly inviting about the way the work captures that fleeting moment at the end of the day, when the landscape seems to become still and the changing light takes centre stage. Marla Wilson is a Canadian artist whose work is strongly connected to wildlife and the natural world. Her limited-edition prints include a wide range of Canadian subjects, from wolves, eagles and other wildlife to coastal and mountain landscapes. Sunset on Georgia Strait, published in 1992 as a limited edition of 950, demonstrates another side of her work—her ability to capture the peaceful, atmospheric beauty of the Canadian landscape. It is a wonderful piece for anyone who appreciates West Coast scenery and the timeless appeal of a coastal sunset. Sheet size 27 x 21 1/2 inches. Image size 23 3/4 X 18 inches.
