Lot #1003: Sterling Silver Vintage Mid-Century DOREL Engraved Powder Compact – Personalized Inscripti

Beautiful, mid-century sterling silver square powder compact produced by the Canadian maker DOREL. The lid features an elegant, classic scroll and floral hand-etched center panel surrounded by a textured border. Adding to its historic charm, the reverse side of the case features a unique personalized sentiment engraved with the words "Love Cyril", lending a sweet, romantic air of personal provenance to this mid-century accessory. DOREL was a prominent Canadian manufacturer active during the mid-20th century (predominantly the 1950s). The company specialized in high-quality personal vanities and accessories, particularly sterling silver powder compacts, cigarette cases, and lipsticks. DOREL pieces are characterized by precision engine-turned patterns or delicate hand-engraved flora and scroll motifs, standing as a representation of late Art Deco and post-war mid-century elegance in Canadian silversmithing. Condition Considerations: Please note that the internal mirror is in disrepair, and the case mechanism does not close smoothly. This makes it an ideal candidate for restoration or a beautiful display piece for a vanity collector. Pickup category timeslot {A}
