Lot #1005: Vintage Sterling Silver & Unmarked Puffy Teardrop Dangle Earrings – Two-Pair Estate Lot

Two pairs of vintage puffy teardrop drop earrings. Both pairs showcase a timeless, minimalist aesthetic with sleek, high-polish shapes that elegantly catch the light. Pair 1 (Left): Features a shorter, delicate post-drop wire. It is clearly stamped "925 Thai" on the reverse side of the teardrop body. Pair 2 (Right): Features an elongated, sweeping French-hook style wire. This pair is completely unmarked and untested for metal purity, selling as-is. Puffy silver jewelry gained immense popularity from the 1970s through the 1990s, using electroforming or hollow-stamping techniques to create bold, volumetric shapes that remain comfortably lightweight. The pair stamped "925 Thai" represents Thailand's rich history as a premier global hub for high-quality artisan silversmithing. Beginning in the late 20th century, independent Thai workshops supplied major Western boutique retailers with exceptionally clean, minimalist silver goods. While specific individual artisan marks are absent here, the "Thai" regional stamp is highly regarded by collectors for its reliable silver purity and excellent craftsmanship. The second, longer pair serves as a perfect styling counterpart, emphasizing the clean, fluid lines popular in late-century fashion.
