Lot #1007: Sterling Silver Vintage Taxco Mexico 925 Malachite Inlay Dangle Earrings

Handmade vintage Mexican sterling silver dangle earrings. These circular, open-donut style dangles feature an intricate geometric cut-out design combining a classic Greek Key fretwork with traditional Aztec motifs. The channels are meticulously hand-inlaid with a vibrant, genuine crushed green malachite mosaic alongside black resin/enamel accents, creating an eye-catching contrast against the polished silver. Hallmarks: Stamped "925", "MEXICO", and the alphanumeric registration code "TC-251" The alphanumeric stamp TC-251 provides valuable cataloging details for collectors based on Mexico's official letter-and-number registration system:T: The first letter designates Taxco, the historic silversmithing capital of Mexico.C: The second letter represents the first letter of the primary silversmith's or workshop designer’s last name.251: This indicates that this specific artisan or workshop was the 251st registry entry under the letter "C" in Taxco. While the exact name of the individual artisan working under the "C" registration remains uncredited (which is common for mid-to-late 20th-century Taxco studio production), pieces carrying the "TC" prefix are widely collected. They represent the final era of entirely handmade, micro-mosaic inlay techniques popularized by the mid-century Mexican Modernist movement. Pickup category timeslot {A}
