Lot #68: Lot of 3 Antique Chesapeake Bay Area Wooden Duck Decoys – Inc. Rare Wing Silhouette

- This lot includes two solid-body working decoys (resembling Bluebills/Scaup) and one very scarce folding profile silhouette wing decoy. Antique 1910 – 1930 Decoy 1 (Left / Silhouette): A classic Chesapeake-style primitive "flattie" or wing-board silhouette duck decoy featuring a hinged profile head and body crafted out of thick wood paneling. It folds flat down into its base groove for efficient transport in a hunter's rig. Features an unpainted, deeply aged natural wood patina. Decoy 2 (Center): A solid-body working block with carved head and embedded glass eyes. The underside retains its vintage rigging, including an attached wire bracket and lead teardrop swing-weight. Shows a dark, weathered working surface. Decoy 3 (Right): A rugged, heavily gunned solid wooden decoy displaying a stark working repaint surface over an older body. It features inset yellow glass eyes and a prominent circular poured-lead ballast weight flush-set into its flat bottom. - All three items are in historical, "as-found" working condition with extensive honest gunning wear, paint loss, wood checkering, and beautiful weathering from decades of exposure to brackish water. Metal components exhibit a heavy rusted patina.
