Lot #158: Original Watercolor Taxi Service Sign Street Scene Painting on Paper Vintage Style

Original hand-painted artwork depicting a roadside taxi service building and sign, featuring the bold hand-lettered “SERVICE TAXI” sign, telephone number, utility pole and wires against a vivid blue watercolor sky. The artwork appears to combine watercolor with ink/pen and additional painted details, giving it a loose, expressive urban/roadside Americana style. Painted on heavy artist paper. The paper has an embossed “100% COTTON” watermark/stamp visible near the edge, indicating quality cotton watercolor paper. This is an original artwork, not a print. The reverse shows pencil construction/sketch lines and signs of previous mounting, including tape/adhesive remnants. There is general handling, edge and surface wear consistent with an original working piece. Please see all photographs for exact condition. An unusual piece of vernacular Americana with strong visual appeal for collectors of taxi memorabilia, roadside architecture, transportation art, urban landscapes and original watercolor paintings.
