The Left Piece: Vintage Hinged "Apiol" Cataplana Type & Function: This is a Cataplana, a traditional Portuguese spherical cooking vessel native to the Algarve region. It is closee with brass hinges and side clamps to slowly steam seafood, clams, and rice dishes, retaining all the moisture and flavor. Note: It is not designed for popcorn, though its shape mimics a clambake/popper style.Markings: Clearly stamped on the bottom with an oval mark reading "APIOL / MADE IN PORTUGAL".Material: Solid hammered copper exterior, tinned interior, featuring wire-wrapped brass locking handles and hinges. The Center Piece: Heavy-Gauge Covered Casserole Pot Type & Function: A heavy-bottomed, small covered stew pot or individual casserole dish.Material & Weight: Extremely solid, thick-walled copper construction. The Right Piece: Tinned Copper Egg Poaching Pan Type & Function: This is a specialized egg poaching pan (often colloquially referred to as an egg coddler tray or pan) designed with 5 circular divots to hold and perfectly poach or bake individual eggs.Material: copper shell with a tinned lining on the interior and two small brass handles.
