COPPER / LEAD MOUNTS / CANADA / 801".Marlboro Plate was a premier, historic trademark owned by Morton Parker Ltd., a well-regarded Canadian silverware manufacturer that operated out of Trenton, Ontario, Canada starting in 1945. Pieces stamped "E.P. Copper" indicate that the core body was crafted from solid copper and then electroplated with heavy silver. Because copper is a dense, high-quality base metal, it allowed for much finer detailing and structural weight than cheaper alloy bases, making these specific Canadian-made pieces highly sought after by collectors of vintage regional holloware.
