Vintage 1950s Thirst Extinguisher Musical Cocktail Shaker Decanter - Japan - WORKS! Item: Vintage Mid-Century Modern "Thirst Extinguisher" Novelty Musical Cocktail Shaker / Liquor Decanter Era: 1950s – Early 1960s Origin: Made in Japan (Authentic stamped hallmark on base) Tune Played: "How Dry I Am" Condition: Vintage / Working Condition Description: Up for auction is a highly collectible and incredibly charming piece of Mid-Century Modern barware kitsch: an original 1950s "Thirst Extinguisher" Musical Cocktail Shaker and Decanter. Designed to look like a vintage fire extinguisher, this vibrant red and chrome novelty piece is the ultimate conversation starter for any home bar, man cave, or MCM collection. Features & Functionality: Humorous Vintage Graphics: The front casing features clean, retro typography reading: "Thirst Extinguisher - Dispense Freely For Best Results - To Refill Call Your Host - Keep Available For Emergency. "Clever Modular Design: Features a removable chrome top assembly styled like a classic steering-wheel pump handle. Removing the wheel handle reveals a built-in liquid pour spout for continuous serving, alongside a smaller angled screw-cap nozzle. Fully Working Music Box: The wind-up mechanism built into the base is in tested, working condition! When you wind the mechanical T-bar key on the bottom and lift the decanter to pour, the spring-loaded plunger releases, playing a clear rendition of the iconic drinking anthem "How Dry I Am." Setting the decanter flat on a surface immediately pauses the music. Condition Report: This is an authentic vintage item with a beautiful, honest patina. The mechanical musical movement operates exactly as it should. The original paper tune label is still attached to the base, and the authentic "JAPAN" stamp is clearly visible. No dents or structural damage. Please see the high-resolution photos for the exact cosmetic condition Nearest intersection Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue Pickup category timeslot {A}
