- Genuine antique, mid-to-late 19th-century steel plate engraving titled "On the Thames". - The piece is inscribed "J.M.W. Turner, R.A. Pinxt" on the lower-left margin (indicating it was copied from an original painting by Joseph Mallord William Turner). - The lower-right margin is inscribed "R. Wallis, Sculpt", crediting the master British engraver Robert Wallis. - Published in New York by the renowned firm D. Appleton & Co. - Antique 1850–1880 - Fair to good antique condition. The main uncolored image impression remains crisp, sharp, and highly detailed. The heavy wove paper sheet exhibits natural age-toning, localized foxing spots, and minor handling wear/creasing along the wide, untrimmed margins. The top right corner has a minor chip, and the reverse side is blank with standard historical toning.
