Byers' Choice La Befana and Victorian Caroler Figures

The figure on the left in the first photo is a La Befana doll. La Befana is a popular figure in Italian folklore, often referred to as the "Christmas Witch." According to Italian tradition she flies around on her broom on Epiphany Eve to deliver gifts to good children or lumps of coal to bad children. True to her folklore, she is holding a straw broom to sweep up the homes she visits and a sack of colorful wrapped gifts. The second figure is a Victorian woman or girl. Her outfit is typical of the Byers' Choice Victorian style.
