Both the heart shaped pendant and the earrings date from the late nineteenth century (late Victorian era). The sterling pieces are set with rose cut garnets -- the rose cut is a very old gemstone cutting style where the triangular facets of the stone meet in a central point (look closely at the photos). The bale of the pendant and the posts of the earrings are stamped STG for sterling. Garnet is the birthstone for January. Excellent antique condition. Note: the box is not part of the auction lot.

Antique Sterling Pendant and Earrings set with Rose Cut Garnets

Circa 1830 - 1840. This serving set is almost 200 years old! The impressed mark is on the back of all five pieces and reads as: Pearl Ware above an elaborate D monogram which was the mark of Thomas Dimmock, a Stoke on Trent potter in England. The plates and pedestal dish have an incredibly detailed, raised, and hand painted grape leaf and vine pattern in shades of green and cream. The four plates have a diameter of 8.5 inches (22 cm) and the pedestal dish has a diameter of 9 inches (23 cm). Almost mint condition, considering its age, with minor scuffs and nicks.
