Lot #303: Vintage Soba Chako Blue Onion Porcelain Cups

Blue and white porcelain vessel featuring a prominent underglaze blue chrysanthemum scroll pattern. Based on its shape, flare, and size proportions relative to the table surface, it is categorized as a Soba Choko (a traditional Japanese buckwheat noodle dipping cup) or a small multi-purpose cachepot/planter cup. While often misattributed as the European "Blue Onion" motif or general Chinese export ware, this specific layout—characterized by a stylized radial chrysanthemum blossom bordered by panel outlines near the foot—is characteristic of antique Japanese Imari/Arita porcelain. It is common for these functional utilitarian wares to remain unmarked on the bottom. Dimensions: - Pickup category timeslot {A}
