Cristallo Venezia CC "Uranium Glass" Murano Sommerso Large- Scale Centrepiece Bowl • The exaggerated, horizontally stretched winged silhouette with curled-horn handles is a hallmark design strictly tied to their 1960's production era. As well, all Murano factories phased out the use of uranium oxide powder in their standard production runs as of 1970. • This piece does not have a label, but Can be attributed to Cristallo Venezia CC for the following reasons: 1) There are identical green-and-amber Sommerso core bowls with the outspread silhouette, and the scrolled horn handles that exist in collector databases and archive sites like 20th Century Glass 2) Cristallo Venezia pieces feature a highly recognizable, heavy multi-pointed star-shaped or pedestal glass base. 3) The tightly curled, horn-like scroll handles are a specific design trademark of this workshop. 4) Your UV light test confirmed a uranium- doped green glass layer wrapped sharply alongside a non-reactive amber layer, all encased in a thick crystal shell. This complex, multi-layered chemical recipe aligns exactly with the batch formulas used by Cristallo Venezia during their prime 1950's-1960's. • This piece is is classified as a Large- Scale Centerpiece Bowl, because of the weight and size, and were treated as premium luxury investments when bought new in the 1960's • In excellent condition, no cracks, breaks, or chips.
