Lot #5: Antique Art Nouveau Blown Glass "'Soliflore" (Bud) Vase

Antique Art Nouveau Blown Glass "'Soliflore" (Bud) Vase • This piece is not signed or marked in any way, but I believe it was made in "Bohemia", now the Czech Republic. • The light yellow-green tint fading up into clear glass is indicative of the historic Bohemian potash-glass formula. • The vase has a ribbed, slender panelled trumpet mouth tapering down to a heavy bulbous base. This shape is called a "soliflore" vase to hold a single flower. • This is hand-painted with gold gilt raised enamel. The Art Nouveau organic design shows looping vines, stylized leaves, and textured flower blossoms. • In excellent condition, no breaks, cracks, or chips.
