Lot #143: Vintage Victor Mechanical Adding Machine Model 1506-466 – Serial #764. Working

Mid-century Victor mechanical ten-key adding machine (Model 1506-466). This is a classic piece of American office history, featuring the iconic retro beige molded casing, an integrated paper tape feed, and a robust hand-crank manual mechanism. This specific unit features a very early, low production serial number: 764. • Mechanical & Print Test: Fully functional. The keys type smoothly, the crank handle cycles properly, and the machine successfully stamps numbers onto the paper tape (as pictured). • Ink Ribbon: The printout is currently faint due to the vintage ink ribbon being dry from age. It will need a standard replacement 1/2-inch universal twin-spool calculator ribbon (widely available online for a few dollars) if you want crisp, fully dark text. Item Specifications: • Brand: Victor Comptometer Corporation (Chicago, IL) • Model: 1506-466 (Manual hand-crank, 6-column capacity) • Serial Number: 764 • Power Source: 100% mechanical (no electricity or batteries required) Condition: • Cosmetic: Good vintage condition. The casing shows normal minor surface wear and light patina consistent with age. No major cracks or structural damage. Pickup category timeslot {A}
