Lot #128: Alessi 3909 Kettle Virgil Abloh x Michael Graves Limited Edition - Purple NIB

A stunning intersection of post-modern industrial design and modern streetwear culture. The Alessi 3909 Kettle is a rare, limited-edition collaboration between the estate of legendary fashion designer Virgil Abloh (via Virgil Abloh Securities) and the iconic Italian design house, Alessi. Design & Background: Originally designed by American architect Michael Graves in 1985, the classic "9093" conical kettle became an overnight sensation and remains one of Alessi's most successful products of all time, selling over 1.5 million units. In 2022, Virgil Abloh reimagined this masterpiece as the "3909". This updated variation trades the classic burgundy details and bird-shaped whistle for an intense grape-purple handle and a highly stylized basketball player whistle captured mid-dunk. It effortlessly blends the high-end industrial design language of the 1980s with Abloh’s deep-rooted passion for streetwear, basketball, and youth culture. • Strictly Limited & Numbered: This item is highly collectible and was produced in a limited run of only 9,999 pieces globally. The individual number is etched permanently into the underside of the kettle. • High-End Italian Construction: Crafted in Italy from premium mirror-polished 18/10 stainless steel. • Stovetop Versatility: Features a magnetic steel bottom making it fully functional on all cooktops, including induction stoves. • Condition: Brand new in the original, highly graphic retail box.
