Lot #128: Vintage 1960s Carlson USA "Unique" Boxed Doll & 3 Stamped Hong Kong Folk Dolls "Playmates"

vintage mid-century regional and international costume storybook dolls, featuring a beautifully preserved Western/Indigenous American themed doll with its original display box and matching estate inventory lot tags. • The Featured Doll: Outfitted in a highly detailed, authentic brown faux-suede fringe dress, felt cowboy hat, and matching brown boots. This doll is secured onto a rare heart-shaped base marked "UNIQUE - MADE IN U.S.A.". It comes nested in its original soft blue presentation box with protective crinkle packaging. • The International Companion Dolls: The lot includes three additional companion souvenir dolls dressed in colorful international folk costumes. These dolls are all verifiably stamped "Hong Kong" on the bottoms of their feet, dating them precisely to the classic mid-century import era. Their outfits feature traditional patterns, aprons, laces, and ribbons. • "Unique" Molded Base: Dolls built with the vintage "Unique" brand hardware bases are highly sought after by collectors because they signify authentic mid-century American craftsmanship. • Mid-Century Hong Kong Imports: Collecting vintage 1960s/70s Hong Kong-manufactured toys and souvenir dolls has a dedicated market niche. The foot stamps guarantee authenticity to collectors of this era. • The Brand History: Playmates Toys was founded in Hong Kong in 1966. Before they grew into an international powerhouse in the late 1980s (famous for lines like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), they spent the late 1960s and 1970s producing generic souvenir, regional, and preschool fashion dolls under this exact "Globe" branding. • The "Dolls of All Nations" Series: This particular doll with the red hat belongs to their collectible mid-century "Dolls of All Nations" (or Dolls of Foreign Countries) line. Finding the original sewn-in fabric factory tags intact gives immediate verification to collectors who specifically look for labeled vintage Playmates variants Pickup category timeslot {A}
