Clarence Gagnon (1881–1942) was one of Canada's most celebrated early landscape artists, renowned for his beautiful depictions of rural Quebec. Born in Montreal, he studied art in Canada before travelling to Paris, where he was influenced by European artistic movements and Impressionism. Gagnon became particularly well known for capturing the picturesque villages, countryside and changing seasons of the Charlevoix region. His distinctive use of colour, delicate light and atmospheric detail helped establish him as an important figure in Canadian art. His works remain highly regarded and are represented in major public and private collections. Limited edition print numbered 8 of 875 Winter Charlevoix captures the timeless beauty and peaceful character of Quebec's winter countryside. Inspired by the picturesque villages and rolling landscapes of the Charlevoix region, the scene evokes a quiet winter atmosphere, where snow-covered surroundings, subtle variations of light and delicate seasonal colours create a wonderful sense of depth and tranquility. Gagnon's exceptional ability to capture the warmth and beauty within a winter landscape makes this a lovely representation of Canada's artistic heritage. His winter scenes remain among the most recognizable and admired works in Canadian landscape painting. overall size including frame 19.25 x 20.25 inches Dimensions: 19.25 x 20.25 Pickup category timeslot {A}
