20X10X82. Scottish longcase grandfather clock with Wm. Harvey Stirling on face. Early Victorian. Clock works, per seller. Does not chime.From Clockmakers and Watchmakers of Scotland (D. Whyte):William Harvey listed "as born about 1807 ... Admitted as a freeman of the Incorporation of Hammermen on 31st July 1834, his essay being pinwheel and pinion. An essay master in 1836, and admitted as a burgess of Stirling on 6th November 1838. Continued the business at Baker Street after his father's death in 1835. In 1836 his shop was robbed and much stock taken. Moved to King Street in 1839. Admitted as a Guild brother of Stirling on 19th September 1846 and keeper of the Tollbooth clock in 1835-73. Made improvements to clock movements. In 1878 he took as a partner his former journeyman William Hunter. His son William Jr, apprenticed to his father in 1871,also became a partner in the firm, now Harvey and Hunter. In 1881 he employed one man and three boys. William Sr died on 20 April 1883, and was buried at St Ninians."Cherished family piece, so please bring help to remove from home. Come to pickup at Category D time-slot.

Please be sure to select a time slot that you are certain you will be able to attend. Alternate pickup times may or may not be accommodated and if accommodated may result in additional fees.
Claims for refunds can be made only in certain limited circumstances. Where an error in the lot description has occurred on an item you purchased, let the seller (or their representative) know immediately upon pickup so that it may be rectified. Except for limited circumstances, refunds are subject to processing fees.
MaxSold does not arrange shipping; however, you can make your own arrangements at your own risk.
Current bids cannot be changed or removed once submitted and each one is a promise that you will honour the bid and all the terms.
