A 12-place setting of Villeroy &amp; Boch china in the Vieux Luxembourg pattern. We have a complete set (a few pieces may be missing, but can be replaced at Wayfair.ca), plus some additional pieces, including a fondue pot, a turkey platter, and a serving tray. This set was a wedding present from my parents; my mother claims she paid over $4,000 for it (which I can believe, as a single 10.5" dinner plate costs $80 and the included serving platter costs $350). THE PAINTING'S STORY:&nbsp; This painting was inspired by the painters' close relationship&nbsp;with his grandfather. He was&nbsp;like most boys at this time, on a warm summer's day fishing&nbsp;was very much on his mind. In this painting, his grandfather looks&nbsp;over his shoulder with pride in his heart; how his grandson&nbsp;has grown! The passage of time hasnt dimmed the affection&nbsp;between grandfather and grandson. This work is a tribute&nbsp;to the wonderful kinship he once knew and shared with many. THE PAINTING'S STORY: After tying the old rowboat to the dock and gathering his gear, he will head back to camp for a fine fish dinner. The only problem is that the fish seem to be missing,&nbsp; wasn't the creel just right there on the dock? Could it have jumped away and fallen into the water? In the distance, Ted, the ghost of his deceased father, is enjoying this comical scene and reminiscing over past years when equally funny things happened. Ted will open his live bait shop bright and early the next day as yet another fishing season reels them in. Let's hope our fisherman spots his dinner before it's too late.
