Lot #68: Antique Brass "Lady Bells" & Others

Antique to vintage. Wear commensurate with age.These Lady Bells, also known as Tea Bells, were once the method the "well-to-do" used to call a servant into a room. The mistress of the house would ring the bell for tea (Or anything else she required). In this lot, there are 6 Lady Bells, 2 tiny bells, 1 very loud door bell, and 1 summoning bell.Of the Lady Bells, here's what I can tell you: 2 bells are women in identical medieval attire (dress with puffy sleeves). Both are likely English made, and based on the amount of wear (especially on one) and the fact that the clappers hang from wrought iron, these are likely Victorian era antiques. They have legs for clappers and a fine, clear ring. 8.5cm tall x 4.5cm.1 Lady wears a dress like the huge crinoline ones from the 1860s. She's very well made, however, she doesn't have a clapper.Stamped Made in England.8.5cm x 5.5 cm.3 are of the same design, customary to Wales. They're the ladies wearing a tall, cone-shaped hat and holding knitting. Likely vintage, not quite antiques yet.All have clappers.1 is 7cm x 4cm, 2 are 5.5cm x 3cm.The summoning bell is 11cm tall.The tiny bells are 4cm tall.
