This is something you dont see very often. It is an antique all wood, adjustable candle holder stand. You pull up on the candle holder, and it raises higher. The side notches lock it into the new height. A very clever design that was used in the late 1700s to early 1800s, that allowed a reader to adjust the candle to the best height for reading. Made of hand turned tiger stripe Oak. All wood except for the baseplate screw.This piece is old, but we dont think it is 220 years old. Instead, we believe it was handmade in the 1920s, during the 150 anniversary of 1776. Raises from approximately 2 feet to 3 feet. In very good condition. There is a small chip off of the collar that holder it in place. See the pictures. Measurements: 24-36 inches

Lot 16 is a very nice, vintage Chippendale pattern corner chair. It is hand carved out of solid Mahogany. Has great carved ball and claw feet on all four legs. Over 40 years old. We love this piece and would keep it, but our cabin just doesnt have a good corner for it. Approximately 32 inches tall and 29 inches wide at the front of the arm. Measurements: 32 x 29

Hand Carved Chippendale Corner Chair

This lot is a small, quaint 1930s chest/cabinet with two drawers.  The top has a drop leaf on each side.  Likely a sewing stand.  Its approximately 29 inches high.  The top folded is approximately 14 x 19.  The the leaves up, it approximately 33 inches wide.  Has the original finish, including the flowers on the top drawer.  The overall finish shows wear, scratches and ring stains.  It wont win a beauty contest, but we have enjoyed it as is!  Its an unusual piece.

1930s Cabinet With Drop Leaf Top

This lot is an early 20th Century Mahogany slant-top desk with ball and claw feet. Made in the 1920s to early 30s. When opened, it has 3 drawers, cubbyholes and two secret pullouts. 3 regular drawers underneath the desk part. Overall in very good condition. The only thing to note is that the right side of cubbyhole frame is slightly loose. Needs a touch a glue. See the picture. Sometime over the past 50 years, someone painted it black. Actually has a neat shabby chic look. It is a good size for a normal home or apartment- its 41 inches high, 29 inches wide and 15 inches deep. It easily fit in the back of our van. It still have the makers paper label, but it has faded over 100 years. Ready for a new home! Measurements: 41 x 29 x 15 inches

Lot 19 is an early 1900s captains chair that came from a 150 general store outside Natchitoches Louisiana.  From a groups of chairs called the seats of wisdom where the locals would side by the stove and try to out BS each other.  No telling how many world problems were solved, sitting in this chair!Well worn and repaired several times.  But solid and ready for another 100 years of pontification!

Lot 50 is a nice framed oil on canvas of a Victorian lady in front of her English cottage. The frame is a white carved wood frame. Done by Thelma Leaney Butler. Born in England, she immigrated to the US in the 1970s. This piece was done in the late 70s to early 80s. The canvas stretcher is 16 x 20 inches. The white-washed carved wood frame is 25 x 29 inches. This is a fun lot. It is a 1930s cedar lined wardrobe. The left side door is the closet for hanging clothes. The top of the right side is a cedar lined hat box. Underneath are two drawers. Its an Art Deco-ish style, common in the 1930s, with ribbon Mahogany veneer panels geometrically arranged at different angles. Now, heres the fun part, we acquired it from a (retired) Tennessee moonshiner. The wardrobe has a hidden cubbyhole, that he hide his tasting samples in. The cubbyhole is not in the pictures. If you buy it, well show it to you when you pick it up. It is approximately 60 inches high, 29 inches wide and 19 inches deep. So, it can fit in most small homes or apartments. Not terribly heavy. Its in very good condition, with only a very small veneer loss close to the right foot. We will have young men to help you get it into your vehicle. Measurements: 29 x 19 x 60 inches

Up for sale is an original chair by Hitchcock, one of the great New England furniture makers. They made this particular chair for over a 150 years in the same factory.  The quality of the assembly and the wood stayed the same, New England Rock Maple.  Not sure of the age of this piece, likely the mid-20th Century. This is an unusual and rare lot.  It is a 1991 Babe Ruth poster by Dr. Joe Wilder, M.D., for the 58th annual meeting of the Academy For Orthopedic Surgeons.  Dr. Wilder was one of the preeminent sports orthopedic surgeons in the country.  He was also an accomplished artist of athletic sports and horse racing.  He often stated that artists and athletes made the best surgeons.  This poster is somewhat rare.  It was only available at the meeting.  Brought back by an Atlanta area doctor and framed.  Size is approximately 22 x 32 inches.We have not found another one of these posters for sale.&nbsp;

Square chess/checkerboard top made from solid wood squares in varying brown tones with visible wear and patina from use. The base is painted wood, styled in Victorian fashion with turned legs and decorative spindles. The base includes a solid white marble shelf toward the bottom adding stability and style. The legs curve outward at the base for support, painted a deep brown color.
