This painting was purchased about 27 years ago from the summer house estate of Urquart Wilcox (1874-1941) American on Lake Erie.<div>It is unsigned.&nbsp; &nbsp;He was connected with the Albright Knox Museum in Buffalo for the majority of his career.&nbsp; &nbsp;His family have their own Historical House, Wilcox Mansion, in Buffalo.&nbsp; Wilcox was also friends with the great painters of the day and hosted them at his summer home.</div><div>The painting measures 12 x 9.</div><div>(One of the most noticed paintings I have had in my home.)</div><div><br></div><div>All items in sale sold as is.<br></div>

1950s sculpture of a parent and child.&nbsp; &nbsp;It stands 14 inches high.<div><br></div><div>The Henry Moore Foundation was contacted approximately 20 years ago.&nbsp; &nbsp;They said over the phone after looking at pictures that all his catalogue attributed works need to be signed.&nbsp; &nbsp;Being unsigned they said it was from "the Circle of Henry Moore".&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;We do not have any documentation.&nbsp; &nbsp;Henry Moore enjoyed the City of Toronto, spent time here and favorited the people and city.&nbsp; Please use your own judgement.&nbsp; The work comes with no guarantees.&nbsp; It was purchased from a large Rosedale mansion estate sale about 27 years ago.</div><div>Regardless, it shows well and adds to any room.</div><div><br></div><div>All items in sale sold as is.<br></div>

Tom Sherlock Hodgson (1924-2006) water colour painting of Guelph Ontario.<div><br></div><div>It was painted from Macdonell Street and features the Basilica of Our Lady at the end of the street.&nbsp; &nbsp;The cars and framing suggest the painting was done in the early 1960s.</div><div><br></div><div>Hodgson was to become famous as an abstract artist and as a leading member of the Toronto Art Group "Painters Eleven".&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Hodgson was a multi talented artist, being able to paint equally well with both his right and left hand.&nbsp; &nbsp;He was often employed by major publications to illustrate stories.&nbsp; &nbsp;He was also know for throwing the best parties in Toronto.</div><div><br></div><div>The painting is in fine condition with strong bright colours.&nbsp; &nbsp;The piece retains its original matting and frame.</div><div><br></div><div>This is an original painting not a reproduction.</div><div><br></div><div>All items in sale sold as is.<br></div>

From the elegance of times past, this hemplewhite circa 1810 side table was made in Montreal.&nbsp; &nbsp;It is now over 210 years old.&nbsp; &nbsp;Though it has age wear, it still shows well.&nbsp; Please see pictures for the top wear and for the minor losses to the edging.<div>It measures 29 inches high, is 36 inches wide and is 17 5/8 inches deep.</div><div>A fine selection of wood that time has brought out the patina.&nbsp; &nbsp;Delicate inlaid lines to the legs, very fine work.&nbsp; Please see similar Montreal examples in the books on Canadiana Furniture published in the 1960s and early 1970s.&nbsp; &nbsp;Again, has some age related issues issues and still has lots of charm and room appeal.</div><div><br></div><div>All items in sale sold as is.<br></div>
