Lot #25: 2 Early Banks Uncle Sam & USaveA Dime

Very special pair of early mechanical banks, early 20th century. These were used to help kids learn how to save money for the things they needed or wanted. The Uncle Sam bank is still made today, although no where near as nice as the old ones. This one is red painted tin. It shows on the counter that there is $1.00 inside. So there is your opening bid! It is 6 tall and 4 wide and 5 deep at the base. Nicely used condition. The instructions are written on the back. You can insert all coins and there is a place in the back where you can insert rolled op paper money. It I dont believe it will count the paper money. Its just a nice surprise when you can open it at $10 and you find out there is more!!! The second one is even cuter than the first. This is a USaveA DIME BANK. Great early graphics. all complete. It works in the same way the other bank works and the door will open at $10, however it is saying there is $2.70 inside but I believe it is empty. I haven tried putting a coin inside to see if it registers.. 8 leave that up to the winner. If I was keeping it and the counter still works. I would put the money needed to get it to say $10 and when the door opens I think it will go back to zero and you can start over. It this is just speculation on my part I dont really know. This bank is 4x 4 x 3. Expected west and tear for a 100 year old used toy but so very special with lots of character..check out the pictures for condition
