No issues<div>Roy Greenaway (1891-1972 | Canadian)Roy Greenaway was a self-taught painter, learning in his free time when he wasnt working at his full-time job at the Toronto Daily Star as a reporter/photographer. Greenaway began painting in the 1930s with oil paints, a post-war contemporary painter inspired by the Toronto scenery around him. The artist also captured coastal and cityscapes of Quebec, New York, Venice and England.<br></div><div>Over the Years, he has exhibited with the Royal Canadian Academy, the Montreal Society of Artists, the North Shore Arts Association of Gloucester, Massachusetts (member), and elsewhere. He has painted in the United States (Portsmouth, N.H., and NYC), Italy (Venice), and in England (Cornwall). In Toronto, on his way home from work, he sketched scenes of old buildings and streets now demolished. A few of them included old streets and buildings on the present site of the Hospital for Sick Children. A 10-year travelling retrospective of his work was organized by the Art Gallery of Brant in Brantford in 1979; a 20-year retrospective was held at the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, Hart House, Art Museum at the University of Toronto, in 2001.. and the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg held a solo exhibition, The Eye Within, in 2009.His work has been represented by the Mira Godard Gallery since 1977 and is also carried by the Galerie d'art Jean-Claude Bergeron in Ottawa, which did shows after Bartram died as did the Godard Callery.<br></div><div><br></div><div>In 1974, he was awarded the Ontario Arts Council Publication &amp; Purchase Award  "Editions 1", at the Art Gallery of Brant and as a result, his print Island Forms is in the collections of the Art Gallery of Ontario and York University, both in Toronto, and the University of Guelph. Label on Base.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Norman can most often be found in his workshop near his home in Griquet, a seaside community in northern Newfoundland, where he turns whalebone into carvings of bears, whales, birds and other works of art.Norman started carving in 1969 but continued fishing until he turned 30, then he turned his life-long hobby into fulltime employment. In the earlier years, Norman worked with local soapstone but in later years he spend most of his time working in whalebone and Moose <span class="bg-warning nswreasons" id="rid-70">a n t l e r</span>&nbsp;as his medium.Whale <span class="bg-warning nswreasons" id="rid-71">b o n e</span>&nbsp;was collected over the last 40 years by walking the shorelines of Newfoundland where the sea would wash it up on shore, very much like driftwood. The <span class="bg-warning nswreasons" id="rid-71">b o n e</span>&nbsp;has to be at least 50 to 150 years old to be weathered enough to work with. The vertebra and rib <span class="bg-warning nswreasons" id="rid-2">b o n e s</span> are very porous with a hard outer shell, which is great for larger carvings and the jawbone is white and solid and polishes quite nicely. He uses this material to make pins, earrings and other smaller carvings from.<span class="bg-warning nswreasons" id="rid-70">a n t l e r</span> from moose and caribou are also used and is found in the back country where they are shed every year or collected from local moose hunters.&nbsp;</div>                                <br>Measurements: 5.5&#34; x 6&#34;
