11-foot Sailing Dinghy,PrimroseGeneral description: Cat rigged sailing dinghy with measured length of 11 feet 0 inches and beam 60inches. Model and year of construction unknownHIN: Hull pre-dates this requirementObservationsGeneral state:The vessel was laid-up ashore in the work shop and was uncovered. The vessel was in good cosmeticcondition, with some minor work being carried out.Configuration:Open boat with cat rig, steel centerboard and transom hung rudderStructural condition:The vessels hull was constructed of lapstrake cedar or cypress over and oak centerline structure andsteamed oak ribs, fastened with copper rivets and finished bright. Transom, centerboard trunk andinternal finishings were of varnished mahogany. Centerboard of plate steel. Rudder of timberconstruction with bronze fittings. All were found to be in sound condition, and the vessel overall isconsidered sound.Arrangements:Single seats midships with wrap-around seat aft, fixed to risers P&S. Sound and secure.Rig:Mast and boom appeared to be of spruce, bright finished, and were in good condition. Standingrigging was of 1x19 stainless steel wire with bronze turnbuckles, also in good condition. Runningrigging of 3-braided polyester in serviceable condition. Sail of tan colored dacron, serviceable.Fittings: Original bronze.Other: two leather-bound oars in very good conditionFindings:This is a fine small vessel, finely detailed and well constructed in GOOD condition overall.
