Lot #47: Vintage Bookcase and Nancy Drew Books

For many girls, Nancy Drew and her friends George and Bess sparked greatly expanded ideas about possibilities open to them. Adventure! Mysteries! Sports cars and haunted bridges and guys named Ned! The decades passed but the trio remained ageless, while a procession of writers took the nom de plume of "Carolyn Keene." This small collection is primarily the yellow-spined hardbacks of the 1960s and onward, all in good condition with some wear. It also features two older volumes: "The Hidden Staircase" and "The Secret of the Old Clock" originally published in 1930, although both of these were printed at a later date. "Staircase" is from the mid-1930s, and "Clock" from the late 1940s-early 1950s. Both in fair to good condition. The "Clock" volume appears to be missing the inside front and inside back end papers, which have been carefully removed.
