Lot #92: SeaShell Framed Mirror - Ariel's Delight

This very heavy mirror measures just over 3 feet tall and is approx. 2 feet wide, including shells. The frame is encrusted with more than 220 shells of various sizes, including abalone, snail, conch, scallops, coral, etc. There are 3 starfish, and more than 20 pearls that we believe are real. There are 2 shells that have carved cameos. A very dramatic piece that wod look stunning on any wall, in any home. Ariel would love it, and Neptune would be proud. This is a very impressive piece. The mirror is in overall good shape, with a couple of spots that might be adhesive, or else little scratches, hard to tell and hard to photograph. There is one small hole in a large shell, but could not find any other damage. The starfish in the top right corner does move slightly if handled, however we considerer this to be "give" that has allowed the piece to remain in tact all these years. The back is difficult to photograph, however there is a wire for hanging, and there is kraft paper, some of which may be a bit torn in spots. The nacre and colours of these shells are even more vibrant, rich, and beautiful in person. Great care has been taken to wrap and package this piece. The winning bidder can unwrap on presmises if he or she wishes to do so, however he must then bare the responsibility of rewrapping it before transport. We have done our best to check and/or test every item and disclose any flaws in the description, therefore all items sold as is with all sales final.
