Fritz Rudolf Hug (1921-1989) was a 20th-century Swiss artist primarily known for his charismatic paintings and drawings of wild animals. Since there was no battle at Valley Forge, PA, perhaps, his prayer worked, and the British decided not to attack. Another interesting thing about this lamp is that George Washington is much larger than his horse. The base of the lamp with George Washington probably dates to the 1930s. It originally had a brass or bronze coated finish. The electrical socket, wiring, and the harp are modern so it should be safe. Originally, it probably had a round glass globe.&nbsp;                                                <br>Condition: No lampshade.<br>Measurements: 9.5&#34; by 4.5&#34; while the height to the top of the harp is 16&#34;.

The scale is made of wrought iron with a rustic, aged patina and some surface rust. It features a long, flat body with a curved hook on one end and an S-shaped hook in the middle for hanging or attaching weights. The metal is thick and robust, showcasing craftsmanship from the 19th century, with the name 'N. Custer' clearly stamped on the iron surface.
