1891 Sitting Bull And The Indian War

Lovely vintage pair of fine bone china cups and saucers by Paragon. Both are decorated on the exterior lip of the cups and at the centre of the saucers with a pretty floral design. And both have the prettiest floral shaped handles. One cup and saucer has a band of blue on the inside lip of the cup and outer border of saucer. The other cup and saucer has the same idea only using pink. The gold edging on both cups and saucers is entirely intact.<div><br></div><div>The saucers measure 5.5 diameter. The cups measure a bit over 3.25 diameter at the mouth, excluding handle.</div><div><br></div><div>Both cups and saucers are in pristine condition save for one very teeny fleck off the base of the blue cup. Early primitive wooden gameboard for chess or checkers. The board is demarcated with black and tan coloured squares. There are faint incised circles on the reverse suggesting the makers first thought was to create a double-sided board but for whatever reason they didnt follow through.<div><br></div><div>The gameboard is edged in a wooden frame which has some splits and a section missing from two corners. An eye hook at the top of the frame allows the board to be hung which is exactly what my mom did, having a small collection of these boards as wall art.</div><div><br></div><div>Measures about 12.25 square. The board itself, excluding frame, is .75 thick.</div><div><br></div><div>The board itself is in good condition aside from some surface wear. Hand-stitched vintage quilt with stylized leaves throughout. The body of the quilt is a warm cream colour and the leaves utilize a variety of fabrics both solid &amp; patterned. Vintage Quilt

Im no textile expert so I cant tell you whether this sampler is 50 years old or 150 years. What I can tell you is that it is beautifully handstitched on linen, it was acquired in the Niagara Peninsula, and it certainly does have some age to it.<div><br></div><div>The sampler measures approx 19 square, it has some modest staining to it, and it is unframed.</div>                <br>Condition: Good Vintage

Well heres another gnarly tree branch this time fashioned into a walking staff. In this instance the maker chose to leave the bark on the branch intact. The skull head finial is an entirely separate piece and carved from a hard material. Thats a scary looking dude to be sure.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>There is a lozenge shape in the shaft about 16 down from the top. To me this looks intentionally cut out &amp; it also looks like there are some marks scratched in - a signature perhaps?<br><div><br></div><div><div><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">The staff in its entirety measures 53.5 long. The skull finial on its own is approx 2.25 long.</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">There are lots of natural imperfections to the wood shaft, some peeling and flaking to the bark given age and use, and the very bottom tip has a corner broken off.&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">There is a soft spot in the shaft about a foot down from the top where Im sure there was a bit of rot in place when that branch was chosen. The skull finial has no condition issues.</span><br></div></div></div><div><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">My gut suggests to me this may be a more significant piece than my knowledge recognizes.&nbsp;</span></div>                                <br>Condition: Vintage - used

Small coffee jar with vintage marbles. There is one regular size marble which I dont think is all that old, the other 24 are what we called boulders when I was a kid. I love a mystery!&nbsp;<div>Vintage framed photograph of a little girl in cowgirl garb and signed Judy Provenzano or Provengard? Was she a child celebrity of some kind? The autographed photo would suggest so.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Under the glass it is evident that there is rippling in the photo along with staining. But some of the staining is also likely due to inexperience or dirty chemicals when developing the photo.</div><div><br></div><div>The wood frame is also vintage. It has a fair bit of wear to the surface along with a chunk out of the bottom left corner at the back. There is black text printed on the back sides of the frame. Name or place? But I can make out July 11, 1871?&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Will take some patience and sleuthing to decipher what the text says and to determine who Judy was.</div><div><br></div><div>Frame measures 9.75 wide x 11.75 high.</div><div><br></div><div>Both frame and photograph have condition issues as described above.</div></div><br>Condition: Vintage - used

<div>Early salt glaze stoneware crock with impressed and finger painted grape motif on front. Near top impressed F.T. Wright &amp; Son. Barely legible is impressed text Stoneware Taunton, Mass and below that 2 (for 2 gallons).</div><div><br></div><div>This old crock was definitely put to use. It has several chips on the lip both inside and out, a couple on very base, and several cracks throughout. None of the cracks are such to compromise the structure and none have been repaired in any way. But I wouldnt do any pickling in this. Antique Stoneware Crock

Gorgeous antique rake constructed entirely of wood save for some nails used in the joinery. To me utilitarian objects such as these are like functional art which exude pride in craftsmanship. Look at the graining in that wood. And again the warm patina that can only by had with the passing of time. Antique Wooden Rake

Early flow blue handleless cup and deep saucer along with a small paint. These are the super dark blue, runny kind of flow blue dating around the mid-1800s.<div><br></div><div>The plate and saucer are marked on underside with pattern name Manilla and maker F.W.&amp;Co. Ironstone.</div><div><br></div><div>Cup measures 3.25 tall x 3.75 diam at mouth. Saucer is just shy of 6 diam x 1.25 deep (the kind of saucer you would sip your tea from). Small plate measures 7 diam.</div><div><br></div><div>There are a couple teeny nicks at base of saucer otherwise all 3 pieces are in very nice condition. 3 pcs Antique Flow Blue

<div>Imagine these antique decanters glistening with your favourite brandy or cognac! Wowza!</div><div><br></div><div>Very heavy crystal. The coiled neck and lip of each decanter is amber coloured, as is the top of each stopper. The shoulder and base of each bottle is clear and cut in what is a honeycomb pattern variation. The central body is amber coloured but etched beautifully in a frosted grapes and vine pattern.</div><div><br></div><div>Val St Lambert? Bohemian? I can just tell you they are gorgeous and of excellent quality.&nbsp;<span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">Aside from one stopper engraved 5 and the other 6 at the base I see no other marks.&nbsp;</span></div><div><br></div><div>One stopper has a small chip on top edge. Round stoneware crock featuring a salt glaze finish with a blue-grey and beige color scheme. Decorative panels embossed around the body with scroll and garland motifs. The surface shows characteristic glaze crazing consistent with age and use. The crock includes a matching lid with a knob top, exhibiting two small areas of roughness on the inside. The original bale handle is missing, as indicated by the drilled holes present on opposite sides near the rim.
