Cast Iron Fluting Fluter Iron Patent Date 1866 H. Sauerbier &amp; Son, Newark NJ.&nbsp;Antique cast iron machine fluters or pleating irons, operated by means of a hand crank which crimped the fabric as it rolled between the two fluted rollers. Used to ruffle a womans collar and cuffs, which was the fashion from the 1860's to the 1880's. very unusual to find. First introduced by Ideal in 1971, Rebound is a table-top shuffleboard for 2 to 4 players, ages 10 and up. Each player or team is equipped with four red or blue pucks. Using a combination of luck and finesse, players take turns shooting their pucks down the alley. Once launched, each puck bounces off two rubber bands and comes to rest in either a scoring zone (10, 20, 50, or 100 points) or the dreaded Pit (0 points). Antique cast iron fluting machine or pleating iron from the 1860s, with patent date 1866 by H. Sauerbier & Son, Newark NJ. Used to crimp fabric for creating ruffles on clothing collars and cuffs. Operated by a hand crank that moves fabric between two fluted rollers.

Black cast iron with wooden handle cranks, square base with embossed maker and patent markings. Twin fluted rollers for fabric pleating. Shows signs of wear and usage consistent with its vintage age, surface patina and paint wear. The rollers are ridged for creating pleats or ruffles in fabric.
