Two commemorative pottery plates from 1939 and 1949. One is a 7-inch Homer Laughlin Fiesta Ware plate celebrating pottery, with traditional Fiesta colors. The other is a 10.75-inch Wedgwood plate with a detailed illustration honoring pottery craftsmanship, featuring an embossed floral border.

The Fiesta plate is in a warm terracotta color with a sculpted relief of a potter at work shaping clay on a wheel, and subtle small blue dots on its surface. The Wedgwood plate is white with an intricate brown transferware illustration of a potter working at a bench inside a stone-walled workshop setting. The rim of the Wedgwood plate has a raised floral pattern with repeating flowers and circular dots in relief, giving it a textured decorative border.
