Lot #8: Heywood Bow-Back Windsor Chair, footstool and Cranberry Scoop

Fine craftsmanship from a New England institution, the Heywood Bros. from our former furniture capital, Gardner MA. This perfectly proportioned Windsor armchair sports an early Heywood Bros. paper stamp, prior to the Heywood Bros. merger with the Wakefield Co. in 1897, forming the popular Heywood-Wakefield line. Standing 36"H with a wide 1.5" thick saddle seat, 16"L legs, rounded spindles, double H stretchers and fantastic steamed bentwood back, this chair offers the best of both worlds - comfort and support.  And that's what you need after your day at the cranberry bog! Our antique scoop is in great shape save a few nicks and scratches, with rounded prongs and handle intact - 15"H x 15"W. Hobble over to your chair with your 35"H walking stick and throw your feet up on that oak footstool with a sturdy hickory bark weave - 12"L x 9"W x 9"H. Aaaahhhhh.
