There's something irresistible about a vitrine full of small treasures ... this vintage case has glass sides all around and a glass lid, with brass hinges. We've stocked it with mainly Victorian-era treasures. The "Unique" needle case is rolled stamped brass, with ornate designs and the logo "R.J. Roberts, very best, patent Parabola, needles" on both covers, 4 interior slots for needle packets, manufactured by William Lewis, England, c.1869, very good condition.
A silver plate pincushion, c. 1890; a shell boat thimble holder with mother of pearl sails, late 1800s, 3.5" X 4.5"H ; pot metal pincushion with dog, Japan;  a "make-do" pincushion with crazy patchwork and fringe, on a glass candlestick or compote stand, Ohio, c. 1900, 4.5"W X 3"H; several button hooks and cutting tools; a souvenir pinkeeper made of oilwood, from Jerusalem; delicately carved tagua nut tape measure; leather pinkeep with gold stamped floral decoration, c. 1860; a stamped Sterling thread winder in a double crescent shape; copper tatting shuttle; wonderful string ball; Japanese smalls including an emery bag and a scissor sheath with scissors; a brass hemming attachment for Davis Co. sewing machines, a one-time manufacturer of sewing machines, 1868; a hand beaded needle case, possibly Native American; various small needle cases and sewing kits; and a glass thimblescope in drawstring bag.
