Description
Beautiful and heartfelt antique Dresden Plate quilt, entirely hand-stitched and dated 1919. This heirloom-quality quilt features 30 blocks with colorful, feed sack-style fabric petals arranged in the classic Dresden Plate pattern, each set against a cream muslin background and bordered with red embroidery.
One panel is lovingly inscribed: "From Mother to Edna, Born June 2, 1919"—a touching dedication that adds a personal and historical layer to this piece.
The quilt has a scalloped red-and-white border and soft cotton batting, with visible hand quilting throughout. Shows some age-related wear, light discoloration, and slight fabric thinning in places—expected for a textile over 100 years old.
A rare and authentic example of early 20th-century American quilting tradition, perfect for collectors or display.
